  • Li-ion battery is disposable (primary) batteries that have lithium metal or lithium compounds as an anode
  • Depending on the design and chemical compounds used, lithium cells can produce voltages from 1.5 V to about 3.6 V, over twice the voltage of an ordinary zinc-carbon battery or alkaline cell battery
  • This best battery is widely used in products such as portable consumer electronic devices
  • Voltage: 3.6V
  • Battery Type: Rechargeable lithium battery
  • Capacity: 900mAh
  • Environmental Temperature (Operating) : 0~45°C
  • Environmental Temperature (Charging) : -20~60°C
  • Size: 50 x 14mm (L x Dia.)

About Lithium Battery Regulations:

  • Function: Lithium batteries are commonly used in electronic devices, such as cell phones, laptops, PDAs and electronic watches. They are also used in long-term electronic medical devices that are implanted in patients, such as pacemakers, where the battery may last for more than 15 years. In other electronic devices, lithium batteries are preferred because they have a longer life than regular alkaline batteries, yet they are used with caution due to its high voltage
  • Regulation: Lithium Cell ReplacementOn January 1, 2008, the regulation restricting the air transport of uninstalled lithium batteries in checked luggage was passed by the United States Transportation Security Administration. This prevents the transport of extra lithium batteries in the luggage that will go to the airplane's cargo areas
  • Exception: The regulation does allow the presence of extra lithium batteries in the carry-on luggage. This does not restrict the number of batteries that is packed. However, the concern is that if a lithium battery did explode, an airplane attendant could use fire prevention measures to extinguish the fire, whereas an explosion in the cargo area may be discovered too late
  • Effects: Turn electronic devices that use lithium batteries off during air transport and secure the battery from being activated by enclosing the device in its proper case. This will secure the lithium battery during air travel
  • Considerations: To prevent short circuits or activation, pack batteries with a piece of tape secure across the battery's terminals to prevent accidental contact with other conduit surfaces, such as any type of metal. New, unopened batteries are already secured in this fashion, so also consider traveling with packaged batteries

How to Choose Rechargable Batteries?

  • Take an inventory of your devices. Whether you're buying regular or rechargeable batteries, you need to know how many of each unique. Inventory your house and your electronic gadgets to determine what size batteries you need and how many of them you need
  • Choose between NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) or ULSD (Ultra low-self discharge) rechargeable batteries. The NiMH batteries are the most commonly used rechargeable batteries. NiMH batteries are best for devices that are used often and require a strong power charge, such as digital cameras, handheld radios and music players. ULSD batteries are better for devices that don't require too much power such as a wireless computer mouse or keyboard
  • Find an accommodating battery charger. Battery chargers for rechargeable batteries come in a variety shapes, similar as batteries do. Some battery charges only charge one size of battery while others charge multiple sizes. If your household only uses AA and AAA batteries then choose a charger that fits that battery size. If you use a variety of sizes, you'll need a more versatile battery charger
  • Select either a solar or electric charger. Although electric battery chargers are more commonplace, why not choose a solar battery charger? Set your price. Rechargeable batteries are a bit more expensive than their non-rechargeable counterpart. Similarly, some rechargeable battery brands are more expensive than others. Do a little bit of shopping around to find the one that falls within your price range
